Bursary supported
Before High Prairie town council's meeting Jan. 14, the High Prairie Elks made a $5,000 donation to the medical student bursary spearheaded by council to provide training for people in the field to return to the Peace Country to work. The bursary was formed to attempt to entice doctors to make the Peace region and High Prairie their home. Mayor John Brodrick, centre, accepts the cheque from Elks members, left-right, Frank Pratt, Fred Spendiff, Tippy Jacobsen and Bill Eckel.
