Starting now until Feb. 28 the High Prairie Municipal Library is aiming to cover the walls of the library with hearts. For every book read by members, a heart will be put on the wall with their name and title of the book. For those who have disabilities and can’t get to the library, but are interested in joining the fun or just wanting to read, the library staff is willing to deliver the books to their doors. Putting hearts on the wall is Janet Porter, assistant librarian/programmer, with help from young book enthusiasts Claire Ashworth, left, and Erica Ashworth.

Two High Prairie area Metis Settlements will be back in High Prairie provincial court March 5 to enter pleas to charges stemming from improper election contributions to Lesser Slave Lake MLA Pearl Calahasen.

Oil upgrader tops $2 billion, says Allan
Peace River Oil’s Bluesky project just got a little bit bigger in size and value. The Red Deer-based company announced late last week that the proposed refinery, located just south of McLennan at Kathleen, is poised to double in size, an end result which will increase overall capacity for phase one of the project to 50,000 barrels per day, up from an original goal of 25,000 BPD.
