JAXX to offer fun, relaxing atmosphere

Looking for a place where you can take a client to schmooze, or even just a place where getting dressed up is OK? Then JAXX is the place for you. Manager Darin Konelsky says his new bar will have a very relaxed business atmosphere. “It will be a nice place where people can go to have a drink in a clean, smoke-free environment,” adds Konelsky. “It will just give people in the community a new option for entertainment. A place that appeals to an older professional demographic.” The main feature for JAXX will be the variety of live entertainment that will be offered to its patrons. “We plan on hiring a lot of local performers as well as having Karaoke nights, and comedians,” says Konelsky, adding JAXX will also feature major Pay Per View sporting events on their big screens. What sets JAXX aside from all other bars in the community besides its non-smoking policy, says Konelsky, is its dress code. “People will be expected to meet a certain level of dress in order to come through the doors,” says Konelsky. “The people who care and just want to have a relaxed time will make the effort to dress appropriately.” No gang related, or baggy clothing, will be allowed. “This will help to weed out the people who are just there to cause trouble,” says Konelsky, adding they will be building a relationship with the RCMP. “We want everyone to feel safe and comfortable while they are trying to have a good time. There will be a zero tolerance policy. If you cause trouble you are gone and that is it.” The concept for the name JAXX came from Konelsky’s father, Jack, who wanted very much to open a pub in the community. “He passed away before he could,” says Konelsky. “But he always wanted to open a classy, fun place for the public to go and take their wives or clients. This bar will be about the quality of our patrons, not the quantity.” JAXX is expected to open in the next couple of weeks, be sure to stop in and check it out.
