Triangle’s Hartley Jackson won the Elks Summer Fun Dream Sweepstakes April 14. He says he will sell the cabin for a firm price of $250,000 because he likely won’t use it enough and it’s too risky to rent. Jackson purchased three tickets last summer and won a free ticket although he doesn’t know which ticket won him the big prize. Above, he poses with his big prize.

No derby or mud-bog but Canada Day activities will go on
The proposed demolition derby and mud bog events to be held at the Pioneer Threshermen’s Association Canada Day event will not be held this year. President Roger Kemp says attendance to the event is expected to be low this year because it is landing on a weekend.
Three High Prairie groups receive money from Peace Country Health
Three High Prairie groups and one from Sunset House are among 22 projects receiving money from Peace Country Health. PCH announced its Community Action Grants recipients April 4.

Walk and Run Club starts next week
An information meeting will be held on April 24 for the new Walk and Run club that is being formed in High Prairie. Lynne Pardell, an organizer of the club, says anyone interested in getting out and meeting new people should come to the meeting.
