Job Corps and Cliff great assets
Cliff Calvert can’t say enough good things about High Prairie Job Corps.
This is the kind of news that doesn’t get around like it should. So, let us help Cliff pat them on the back.
Calvert is the project manager on the second ice surface in High Prairie. Many people don’t know this, but Cliff is donating his time on this project free. Also donating time are the 25 or so workers in the Job Corps. They are “learning on the job’’ and according to Cliff, many have told them what a great experience it is working on this project. Cliff is glad to have them.
This is a time when all recreation projects like this across Alberta are facing horrendous hikes. In some communities, the decision to build or not build is turning into a bitter struggle. One town narrowly voted a complex down a few weeks ago.
It isn’t clear sailing in High Prairie by any stretch. But, because of people like Cliff, the many other volunteers on this project, and the great crew at Job Corps, we are going full steam ahead.
Well done.
