Walk raises over $12,000 for charity

About 63 people came out to support the High Prairie Recreation Board’s Mayor/Reeve Walk on May 27. The walk, which was being hosted by Recreation for Life, raised an estimated $12-15,000 for three charities. These Charities include High Prairie’s Prairie Animal Rescue Society, The University Alberta’s DCA Cancer Drug Research, and the High Prairie and District Children’s Resource Council. Mayor John Brodrick took the cake in pledges after raising $10,100. Other top pledges came from Nancy Biccum, Leona Kuchuk, Treva Emter and family, Wade Sekulich, Nancy Fisher and Dorothy Cowell.
