Festival of Trees Open House

photo3

“What in the world happened here?” Pauline Lavell must be asking herself. Actually, nothing at all! This Christmas tree was purposely decorated and hung upside down. It was one of the more popular trees because of the ingenuity shown by its decorators.

Brownie Kathleen Gillmor, 8, poses beside a nativity scene. Housekeeping staff brought in several dozen figurines which only added to an already impressive display. Many said it was the final, perfect touch to the display.

Jamie Babcock and her mother, Dorothy Mann, enjoy one of the many trees at the Festival of Trees. Babcock and Mann enjoyed their visit and admired the beautiful display. Mann is a resident at J.B. Wood Extended Care Unit.

Play Program Concerts

Madison Bourque, left, holds her star high in the air while singing Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star. Dee-Jay Auger is trying to find a relative in the audience and is interested little in Bourque’s effort.

photo7
Macey Shaw, left photo, was one of few children at any of the concerts looking like she enjoyed her performance. This year’s classes were comprised mostly of shy students – even when it came to Santa’s visit.

photo8
Play Program children sometimes seem a lot more interested in the props they use rather than the songs they sing. Such was the case for Dominic Deynaka, left, and Jacob Kosak. Deynaka must be thinking this is one cool cap! “Wonder if I could get one from Santa?”

photo9
Mariah Herben, left, and Brooke Greer are all smiles – and perhaps just a little mischievous – during their concert performance Dec. 5. The girls and classmates each sang five songs before Santa’s arrival.

photo10
Autymn Potvin, left, and Cassie Smith definitely enjoyed their first public concert performance. Potvin was all smiles during the concert while Smith took the opportunity to play peek-a-boo with her star.

Can there every be Too Many Santas? The students in Heather Killeen’s Grade 4 class think so. These Santas are out of the running for the title of the true Santa Claus. The elf had them do an extremely tiring aerobic work out and they dropped like flies.

Can they say bow-wow? Destiny Mearon, left, and Breaden L’Hirondelle are a couple of the Reindogs featured in the play Theresa Doody’s Grade 3 students performed, Who Let the Dogs Out?

Shelby Cook is going to make sure everyone can hear her sing Dec. 18! Cook is a student in Roberta Barrons’ Kindergarten “B” Class and was singing Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer.

Montana Blackwell, a student in Christina Davidson’s Grade 3 class, played the part of Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer in the play entitled Leroy the Red-Neck Reindeer at the concert Dec. 19. On Christmas Eve, Rudolph fell ill and had to seek the aid of his cousin, Leroy, who saved the day! Driving a pick-up truck instead, of course!

Did you ever see such innocent reindeer? Left-right are Jacob Wright-Willier, Aidan Smyth and Christian Kerekanich. All three are students in Roberta Barrons’ Kindergarten “B” class and sang Eight Little Reindeer at the Dec. 18 concert. Each of the reindeer had part of a song to sing.
