The Shapka 2 rink skipped by Andrea Stevens won the A Event title with an 8-3 win over Lisa Zabolotniuk. Shapka stole a single point in the second end to take a 2-0 lead. After giving up a single point in the third end, they scored three to take command of the game 5-1. A steal of two more in the fifth end removed any doubt who was going to win. Rink members, left-right, are skip Andrea Stevens, third Adriene Shapka, second Lana Brulotte and lead Jayna Brulotte.

Louise Owens’ Donnelly rink won the B Event with a 9-0 drubbing of Jocelyn Heyde. Owens scored three in the first end, then stole one in the second, two in the third and three more in the fourth before the rinks shook hands. Rink members, left-right, are skip Louise Owens, third Carol Milner, second Judy Kjemhus and lead Viviane Benoit. The rink was comprised of ladies throughout the Peace Country. Milner is from Fairview, Kjemhus from Peace River and Benoit from Guy.

Brenda Anderson’s High Prairie rink won the C Event with a high-scoring 9-7 win over Ro-Bar Trucking sponsored rink from Slave Lake. Anderson executed a perfect double takeout in the sixth end to score four and take an 8-3 lead. However, Robar rallied to score four of her own in the seventh to make it 8-7. That forced Anderson to score one in the eighth end to win. The shot was not an easy one as Anderson was drawing into the rings and bumped off a Ribar stone to score the winning point. Rink members, left-right, are skip Brenda Anderson, third Cindy Shewchuk, second Anita Houle and lead Patti Lanigan.
