Three people are dead and two in critical condition following a tragic accident just west of Kinuso April 11 which has left three communities in shock. Dead are Ricky Joseph Davis, 21, of the Swan River First Nation near Kinuso, Tyler James Loyie, 17, of McLennan and Brent Justin Credgeur, 22, of Wabasca. Police have also identified the names of the two injured occupants of the Ford Explorer they were traveling in. They are an 18-year-old male and a 20-year-old male, both from Slave Lake. The driver and lone occupant of the Ford Mustang was not injured. Faust RCMP were advised of the accident on Highway 2, one kilometer west of the Highway 33 turnoff, east of Kinuso, April 11 at 1:30 a.m. They immediately responded to the scene. “Two of the five occupants of a dark colored Ford Explorer were deceased when RCMP arrived on scene, with the remaining three occupants all in need of immediate medical assistance,” reads the RCMP news release. “A third injured occupant of the Explorer succumbed to his injuries while being treated at the scene.” The remaining two occupants were transported to hospital in Slave Lake by both STARS and ground ambulance services. Both survivors were subsequently transported to a hospital in Edmonton suffering from potential life threatening injuries. An update on their injures was not available at press time. Police are reporting the investigators believe the dark-colored Ford Explorer and a gray Ford Mustang may have been traveling together, east bound along Highway 2. Moments before the crash it is believed the driver of the Ford Explorer lost control resulting in the vehicle rolling into the ditch along the north side of Highway 2 resulting in the death of the driver and two passengers. RCMP continue to investigate the circumstances in the deadly accident. Factors being considered in the investigation include the vehicle’s mechanical condition, speed, alcohol, and any other driving influences. Investigators are asking anyone who may have witnessed the driving of either vehicle, or other vehicles in area around the time of the collision, to contact Faust RCMP at 780-355-3670. The Edmonton Sun reported in its April 12 edition the group had just left Davis’ home at Swan River on the way to Slave Lake before the accident. Davis, a well-known musician in the region with the nickname Eternal Flip, had just completed a rap song before the group decided to go to a Slave Lake bar. Davis was also part of a popular local band called Cree Clan.
