Charlie Hereford, left, played by Jessie Lee Caouette, is all starry-eyed for the government man, Marcus Slidell, played by Clinton Willier. The Prairie River Junior High School Drama class staged ‘Hankerin’ Hillbillies’ June 6 at the Gordon Buchanan Recreation Centre. The story revolved around a land dispute between the Hereford and Guernsey families and the five Hereford women desperately seeking husbands. Charlie Hereford took a special shining to Slidell. The class held several performances of the humourous play during the week including one for High Prairie Elementary School students.
