The threat of rain didn’t keep junior golfers from playing in the Frank Carson Junior Championship Memorial Tournament Aug. 21.
The entry fee was $35 and included 18 holes, a pizza lunch and a prize for each player.
There were nine flights of competition and the first place winners of each flight and their scores were:
Championship flight girls:
Jackie Gauchier, 137
Championship flight boys:
Alex Richards, 76
1st flight:
Konrad Turcotte, 88
2nd flight:
Curtis Belcourt, 94
3rd flight:
Bradyn Turcotte, 98
4th flight:
Austin Guttinger, 104
5th flight:
Mark Laboucan, 113
6th flight:
Zach Boisson, 137
7th flight:
Cole Cross, 178
Alex Richards also won the Franck Carson Junior Championship Memorial Cup.
Rick Guttinger, tournament organizer, was pleased with the event.
“The tournament went well. We had 33 kids show up,” says Richards.
Last year’s tournament drew 51 players and he believes better weather might have meant more players this year.
He thanks the sponsors, parents and volunteers for their support.
