Figure skaters bring home 15 medals including nine gold: High Prairie Skating Club members are showing the fruits of their labour this winter as the competition season progresses. On Feb. 7-8, the Drayton Valley Skating Club hosted the NorthWest/Peace Region Funmeet. This year, 13 skaters from the High Prairie Skating Club attended and brought home 15 medals including nine gold. The next big event on the calendar is a Low Test Day in High Prairie Feb. 22. Local skaters are eagerly anticipating the event and hope to bring home many more medals. Fans of figure skating are reminded March 7 at 6:30 p.m. is the club’s annual Ice Carnival. This year’s theme is ‘So You Think You Can Dance - High Prairie?’
