Six writers, six voices
Your voice as a writer is important. Don’t try to write like someone else,” award-winning High Prairie author Larry Loyie told six students at the High Prairie Municipal Library’s recent writing workshop.

Experience of building school brings joy
Sydni McCue is a young resident from High Prairie who has made a difference in Africa through self initiative and fundraising. She visited Ghana for the first time in October of 2007 for two and a half months on a volunteering trip. Upon returning, she worked various jobs to save up for her next trip to Ghana to spread funds raised from an event in the summer of 2008. She took her second trip to Ghana on January 26, 2009 and just recently returned on March 2, 2009. This is the fourth article Sydni has sent us describing her trip, and the different activities she did while visiting Africa.

The High Prairie Tiger Taekwondo Club went to the Alberta Taekwondo Association Provincials in Calgary on March 28./ The High Prairie Buchanan Lumber Blackhawks won the All Peace Minor Hockey League Bantam B Tier 4 title in late March. / In terms of medals and accomplishments, it has been many years since the High Prairie Skating Club enjoyed the success it has this season.
