Junior B application fizzles

With a lot of work for a Junior B hockey team unfinished, Rick Dumont wants to delay the application for entry into the Northwest Junior Hockey League until the 2010-11 season.
Dumont, an interim committee member, wants to get the financial backing and volunteers in place before meeting the NWJHL executive.
The NWJHL will hold its annual general meeting in Grande Prairie May 23. The interim committee was planning to make a presentation at the meeting. However, Dumont says it is unlikely the business plan will be ready in time.
Moreover, very few people have been able to attend meetings. A meeting was held at the Town of High Prairie office May 11, but only he and Robert Olansky attended.
Dumont will set up a meeting with the committee later to plan their next action.
Since the committee was established Jan. 19, they have been working on the business plan, player list, recruiting a manager and coach, etc.
