Spring Open draws 82 in scramble format

It was one of the best attended spring tournaments ever, as 80 golfers participated in the High Prairie and District Golf Club’s annual spring open tournament May 24.
“This is the best spring open we’ve had,” says organizer Dave Temple. “We’re getting better and better, as members and non-members are playing too.”
Players attended from Driftpile, Faust and Kinuso, he adds.
The top 10 teams were paid out:
1. Mike Mungall, Terry Calliou, Mike Ochran and Devon Quartly, with a score of 366.
2. Alex Richards, Zach Boisson, Shelley Gauchier and Bill Dainard, with a score of 373.
3. Two teams tied with a score of 376. The team of Lee Laboucan, James Willier, Dwayne Laboucan and Lloyd Gauchier, as well as the team of Quintin Guttinger, Randy Winterburn, Randi McArthur and Russell Collins.
5. Dave Temple, Peter Laderoute, Steven Gingerich and John Giroux, with a score of 376.
6. Tyler Shantz, Darren Cox, Elmer Anderson and Thomas Goodson, with a score of 382.
7. Napoleon Collins, Cheryl Howells, Shane Smith and Terrance Willier, with a score of 384.
8. Vince Cunningham, Natalie Cunningham, Rob Porter and Ralph Collins, with a score of 385.
9. Paul Burrows, Blaine Kerfoot, Pete Calliou and Gordon Rumley, with a score of 386.
10. Brian Bliss, Ralph Courtorielle, Clarence Dumont and Austin Guttinger, with a score of 389.
Not disclosed was the amount of money each team received.
Temple says other big tournaments are coming, including a midget girls’ cash scramble June 7 and the annual open Aug. 29-30.
