Over the past almost two years, local government “big picture” priorities were clear. A
new hospital and building a road into the resource rich Seal Lake area were right at the
top of any list of “nice to have” items. After all, they had to come after the normal
government business of fixing roads, looking after sewer and water, running recreation
and cultural programs and all the other odds and jobs local politicians get themselves
into. At least, they were on an important list.
