Dominant Dolphin!

Nicole Peyre was one of several High Prairie Dolphins to compete at their annual swim meet at the High Prairie and District Regional Aquatic Centre July 18. Peyre, who places in several races at each meet, is swimming in the girl’s 14 years and over 100-metre buttefly. Please see complete results and more photos in next week’s South Peace News; results were not posted by press deadline.

Local focus for Wholesome Jo’s Inch by inch, wall by wall, Jo Steinley’s dream of opening a restaurant is coming to fruition. Good, clean fun! High Prairie and District Museum staff was ecstatic as 37 children attended the craft session during their summer program July 14. Children first drew a picture on the bar of soap, then carefully carved their creation.

Called Rescue Randy, the lifelike dummy costing about $2,000 weighs 160 pounds and gives firefighters a real chance to train using accurate dead weight.
