Over 600 people attended Canada Day celebrations in Joussard July 1. Most of the people attending were adorned in the bright red of the Maple Leaf, courtesy of flags and tattoos given away. However, many attended with bright red Canada hats of their own which showed pride in their country. A fine time was had by young and old as activities ranged from a bicycle parade for children to horseshoes and cribbage for seniors. Children’s games, face-painting, cake, good food and a dunk tank were some of the other highlights during the day. Fireworks ended the celebrations at dusk.
