Several people have been arrested and charges laid following an incident at the High Prairie Fish and Game Association’s shooting range north of town.
The incident occurred at 3:55 a.m. Aug. 4, when the association received a complaint about after-hours shooting going on at the range. After reviewing photo evidence and an RCMP investigation, the vehicles and occupants were identified, says vice-president Darrell Basarab in a news release.
“The offenders were not members of the club and failed to read the sign on the gate specifying hours of operation. The RCMP seized a gun and charges were laid for infractions,” says Basarab.
The club takes a proactive approach to ensure safe operation of the range with 24-hour surveillance and thanks the public for continued support in reporting tips to them and the RCMP, he adds.
