We’re ready to roll!

The graduating class of 2009 at St. Andrew’s School had their moment Aug. 22, throwing their caps in the air. EPMS protestors ordered from office
Protestors who occupied the administration office and community centre in East Prairie Métis Settlement have been ordered to leave.

Youth centre needs more space
The Our Place Youth Centre, located in the High Prairie Native Friendship Centre, is cramped for space and seeking support for its plan for a new building.

Dolphins do well in regional event
The High Prairie Dolphins Swim Club did well at the regional swim meet in Peace River Aug. 7-9, bringing home provincial qualifying medals in several individual and four relay events.

Land use bylaw amendment receives third reading High Prairie town council has given third reading to the Town’s land use amendment bylaw. Council held a public hearing during their Aug. 12 meeting to hear positions for and against the amendment, but no one spoke. Town bylaws being reviewed for updating The Town is reviewing several bylaws for updating, says CAO Lonny Miller. Additional $2,000 approved for Sports Palace lighting High Prairie town council has approved an additional $2,000 for new lighting for the Sports Palace, bringing the amount of money to be spent to $18,000. PASZA membership decision deferred High Prairie town council has deferred a decision for membership with the Peace Air Shed Zone Association. Rembrandt would be proud These children created macaroni art at the High Prairie and District Museum Aug. 18.

The Argentine government is limiting exports. Cattle producers are moving from grass-fed beef to mechanized feed lots and other modern treatments to increase production.
