CCS Midstream Services is hosting an open house at its new Treatment Recovery and Disposal facility Sept. 18.
The facility, located 14 km south of High Prairie on Highway 749, accepts produced water, upstream oil and gas waste, emulsion and terminalling oil from 7 a.m. to midnight, seven days a week.
“This new facility allows us to better accommodate our customer’s needs,” says Steven Petite, CCS facility manager. “With our new riser system we can have up to six trucks unloading at the same time, which significantly reduces waiting time for our customers.
“We were also pleased to work with many local suppliers on the construction of the TRD and even more pleased to have several local residents as CCS employees,” he adds.
CCS has been a proud member of the High Prairie community since 1989, when CCS purchased the facility from Golden Rainbow. The plant was expanded in 1997 and then relocated across the road in 2008. The new location provides more space for the state-of-the-art facility which features a solids pad, blending skid and processing area. Since the facility operates daily from 7 a.m. to midnight, CCS can handle all upstream waste streams from our oil and gas customers.
“CCS sets the industry standard for waste management,” says Petite. “Everyday, I’m amazed at how immaculate our facilities look and how effectively they operate. Our people take pride in what they do and it shows. CCS is the best at what it does.”
Petite is even more proud of CCS’ track record. CCS has been providing environmentally responsible waste management solutions for the oil and gas industry for 25 years. CCS’ state-of-the-art facilities treat, recover and dispose of all upstream petroleum wastes from initial drilling to production. Handling drilling mud, completion fluids and tank bottom sludge, the TRDs separate oilfield waste materials into three streams: recoverable hydrocarbons, waste water and solids.
In addition, CCS facilities provide emulsion treatment, clean-oil terminalling, water disposal and heavy oil blending. The CCS-developed Gravity Compression System maximizes the effects of heat, time and pressure to separate the waste, leading to improved recovery of valuable hydrocarbons and fewer residual wastes.
CCS Midstream Services is a division of CCS Corporation, a recognized industry leader providing integrated and environmentally responsible services to upstream and downstream oil and gas companies in Canada and the U.S. Other complementary businesses also operate in the High Prairie area as active community members and dedicated service providers for our customers.
“I am extremely proud of our new facility,” says Petite. “We have the technology, the experience and the amazing people who are committed to providing the best customer service. We are all committed to making a difference by providing an environmentally responsible option for our customers.”
Everyone is invited to the Sept. 18 open house from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. to meet staff and take guided tours of the facility. Lunch will be provided from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
