High Prairie Freson IGA held a pomegranate eating contest Oct. 10 in the foyer. About 10
children decided to see if they could eat the tasty fruit first. Some discovered the fruit wasn’t
as delicious as anticipated but still tried to “chow down” to win first prize.

says they’ve lost a few defenceman from last year’s team.

What’s happening in Grade 4?
Grade 4 students continued to have a busy month. They are learning to sing songs from the
radio, mountains in Social Studies, and garbage and types of dumps and recycling in Science.
ATCO Energy “electrifies” students
The ATCO Energy Team visited the school Oct. 13. The Super Power Group entertained students
while sending them messages about electrical and natural gas safety.

Say “Good Day” to Miss McKay
Lorna McKay is the Grade 6 teacher at Bishop Routhier School. Previously, she was the principal
in East Prairie. She completed her degree at the University of Alberta because she always wanted
to be a teacher.

one of the Headstart teachers and will be in our hearts forever.
