The awaited debut of East Prairie’s Roseanne Supernault occurs tonight (Nov. 24) on Aboriginal Peoples Television Network at 9 p.m.
The TV pilot Blackstone airs on APTV and will hopefully kick-start Supernault’s career.
Supernault, 20, plays Natalie in the show. Should the pilot be made into a full-fledged show, it could mean the beginning of a promising career.
“Natalie is a young girl, she represents the drugs and alcohol abuse with Aboriginals,” says Supernault.
Blackstone, written by Gil Cardinal, is a fictional First Nation suffering as a result of the corruption, mismanagement and nepotism of its chief and councillors, with behind-the-scenes influence from other band members. A suspicious fire claims three lives prompting Victor to film the reserve’s “entrenched culture of corruption”.
“It’s a good story,” says Supernault. “It’s good it’s going to be told. There are a lot of issues, especially with Aboriginals.”
