52 Ave. upgrades to cost $995,000
The cost to upgrade 52 Ave. will be approximately $995,000. Ted Duffy, project manager for DCL Siemens
Engineering Ltd. in Edmonton, sent a letter to public works Supt. Vern Walker with the cost estimate.
Evergreen upgrades nearly $60,000
The electrical upgrades for the Evergreen reservoir will cost nearly $60,000, according to the Canadian
Consulting Group in St. Albert.
Sludge completion recommended
It will cost $75,000 to complete a lagoon sludge spreading program for two ponds, says Walker.
Possible paving program
With many paved surfaces in High Prairie deteriorating, Walker is proposing a resurfacing program.

During the past week nearly 80 teams have left here on their way to Athabasca for freight. The largest number
leaving in one day was 32 Wednesday. Adding these to the number who left last week there are over 100

Students reclaim Spongy Polo Cup
It’s December already! HPE is starting to look a lot like Christmas! Trees in the hall are getting decorated
and Christmas music is played in the morning. Kindergarten to Grade 3 students are starting to practice
for their concerts and Candy Cane Grams are being sold.

A lot smiling faces were seen at the monthly assembly! Their happiness was due to being recognized for
hard work and dedication for the month of November.

Students from Bishop Routhier School splashed with excitement at the High Prairie Aquatic Centre.
Great turnout for parent-teacher night
Parent-teacher interviews were held at the school Nov. 25. Parents met with teachers concerning their
child’s progress and picked up report cards at the same time. The high turnout of approximately 81 per cent
made the closing of the first term a great success.
