It feels a lot like Christmas at Driftpile
This year, we had a door decorating contest throughout Driftpile School! We separated the contest into three
categories: K4 to Grade 3; Grade 4 to Grade 8 and staff. All the staff purchased items for each category and
we put together three prize baskets for the winners.
School has awards assembly
Every month, our school has an award assembly. This year, we have brought prize incentives back into the

Pratt students chosen for respect, good character
Each month during the school year, E.W. Pratt High School will be selecting three outstanding students who
best exhibit the qualities in a chosen characteristic. October was ‘character and respect’ month at Pratt;
staff watched to see which students exhibited reliability not only to themselves but to staff and students.
November’s theme was ‘patriotism’. Congratulations to this month’s students!
Destinie Getz - Grade 10
Destinie Getz’s favourite thing about E.W. Pratt is the sports she plays. In her spare time she likes to sing, play
sports and draw. Getz was nominated for respect because she is very cooperative and helps other students.
She is kind and thoughtful toward her peers. She is always the first one in any situation to lend a hand. To
Getz, respect means you have to be kind to people and not to judge them. Staff at E.W. Pratt think those are
great words to live by. Thanks, Destinie!
Levi Ehman - Grade 11
Levi Ehman’s favourite thing about E.W. Pratt is hanging out in the gym. His hobbies include building projects
in Industrial Arts, playing sports and watching TV in his spare time. Ehman was nominated for respect because
he is a fantastic individual. He is well-known for his charisma and humour and is able to balance the two with
respect. He has been described by his teachers and classmates as polite, courteous, and not afraid to wave or
say “Hi!” to those around. To Ehman, it is important to treat everybody with respect. It takes a person like him
to add a little more to our great school. Thanks, Levi!
Tammy Calliou - Grade 12
Tammy Calliou’s favoirite thing about E.W. Pratt is Sarah Jenkins, Charis Gordey, Michelle Hannem and gym
class. Her interests include the sports she plays: volleyball and basketball. Calliou was nominated for respect
because she is a great role model for other students. She gives and gains respect from others. At her sports
tournaments other coaches usually comment that she has great sportsmanship. Calliou is a leader on and off
the court, in school and in the community as well. To Calliou, respect is a big part of what makes our world a
better place. At Pratt, we thank her for being such a great representative of our school. Thanks, Tammy!
