High Prairie Scorpion Taekwondo has finished testing and all the students have advanced.
The testing was done at High Prairie Elementary Dec. 19, 2009, with Master Tara Rennie doing the evaluations. Rennie looks for proper technique, power, confidence and focus, says instructor Melissa Isaac.
The students had to test in the categories of pattern, three-step sparring, sparring, self defence (adults only) and board breaking.
All students received new belts at the end of the testing including: Gracie Smith, yellow stripe; Reece Pratt, yellow; Tara Halcrow, yellow; Kassidi Lemay, yellow; Emily Cardinal, yellow; Nikolas Noskey, yellow; Montgomery Smith, green stripe; Tamia Duchesneau, green stripe; Raiden Duchesneau, green stripe; Daeten Noskey, green stripe; Tom Duchesneau, green; Julia Isaac, blue stripe; Keana Duchesneau, blue belt; Chantelle Billings, blue belt; Edwina Ayles, blue belt; and Josh Halverson, yellow stripe.
Testing is done twice a year and the students attend at least seven tournaments per year to prepare for testing.
Isaac wants to hold an advanced sparring class, starting in January. For more information, please call her at 780-523-5909.
