Alright, all you loyal readers out there! Be ready to discover your inner pirate!
South Peace News is launching an 11-month contest, which will be the best thing to happen to our readers and local merchants.
The Quest for Treasure is a program geared at educating our readers about all the great items you can purchase in our local businesses.
“I wanted to introduce this contest in hopes of showing the people in the community everything you need is at your finger tips,” says Alicia Boisson, sales manager for South Peace News. “Last year I started asking people I knew in the community why they thought people left town for shopping, and the general consensus was ‘there is nothing in High Prairie’. I want to show our local shoppers that there is plenty here. It might take some planning sometimes, but you can get a lot in town.”
The contest is very simple. Every month a maximum of three businesses will put up door prizes. Prizes are guaranteed to be won by one of the contestants. South Peace News will then promote these businesses weekly for that month, telling all our readers the great prizes up for grabs.
Our readers will then search our paper weekly to find their ballot to take to the supporting businesses for that month. Remember, you can only enter one ballot, per week, per box; and they must be newspaper clippings. Be sure to purchase your papers weekly to enter and earn a chance to win! (Every week you can purchase the number of papers that correspond with number of prizes; i.e. three prizes, three papers.)
For every door prize, someone is GUARANTEED to WIN!
Where does the Quest come in? We are glad you asked. Businesses will be placing their ballot boxes randomly in their stores, so you must scavenger the retail store to discover the entry box. Be sure to keep your eyes open for all the treasures you will find in our local businesses.
South Peace News will also be placing the ballot in different spots in the paper every week, so be prepared to search for it and discover the stories and advertisements hidden in the pages of South Peace News!
“This is a win-win program, everyone taking part will benefit. We will gain readers, our local businesses will have the chance to show off their products, and our readers will get a chance to win, as well as, learn more about what we have to offer in our community,” explains Boisson. “It’s a contest bound to please everyone and be a success.”
The first contest starts Feb. 3, with the first draw on Feb. 26. Winners will be announced in the South Peace News.
“The first businesses taking part, along with all those who are following, are very excited. I can’t wait to see how it all turns out,” says Boisson.
