Four area residents face a variety of charges after police executed several search warrants last week.

Cpl. Blaine Oster says the High Prairie General Investigation Section executed three search warrants in High Prairie and Peavine Metis Settlement. As a result, they have arrested and charged one female adult and three male adults for several offences.

“Recovered as a result of these search warrants was a large quantity of stolen and crime related property,” says Oster in a news release.

High Prairie RCMP and the GIS conducted several investigations over the last two weeks relating to thefts, break and enters, possession of stolen property, breach of release conditions and trafficking in controlled substances.

Tanya Dawn Okemow, 35, of High Prairie, has been charged with three counts of trafficking in a controlled substance, three counts of possession of stolen property and six counts of failing to comply with the conditions of a release document.

Austin Matthew Auger, 18, of Peavine Metis Settlement, has been charged with one count of theft under five-thousand dollars, one count of break, enter and theft, one count of break, enter with intent and one count of failing to comply with a condition of a release document.

Jay Evan Carifelle, 25, of Peavine Metis Settlement, has been charged with one count of theft under five-thousand dollars, one count of break, enter and theft, one count of break, enter with intent and one count of failing to comply with conditions of a release document.

Gus David Cardinal, 26, of High Prairie, has been charged with one count of theft under five-thousand dollars, one count of break, enter, theft and failing to comply with conditions of two different release documents.

All four were held in custody until their appearance in High Prairie provincial court Feb. 8, too late for press.

Police are asking anyone with information about this or any other drug-related enterprise crime to please contact Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477) or the High Prairie RCMP GIS at 780-523-3370 or 780-523-3378.
