Ice fishing tournament Feb. 20

The Joussard Superette Ice Fishing Tournament is slated for Feb. 20.

Registration occurs from 9-10 a.m. at the Joussard Community Hall with fishing from 10:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Before fishermen set foot on the ice, however, the reading of the tournament rules will occur at 10 a.m. at the hall. Both members of each team must be present for the rules meeting.

Fishermen can enjoy supper beginning at 4:30 p.m. with the awards to follow.

Cost to enter is $50 per team for adults or $40 per team for youth, both under 16 years of age. And, the tournament has had youth winners in the past.

The field is limited to 90 two-person teams.

All proceeds from the tournament will be donated to the Joussard Community Association.

Italian Night supper Feb. 22

The Kinuso Knights basketball team is holding an Italian Night supper and silent auction Feb. 22 at the Kinuso Agricultural Hall.

The supper and auction begins at 5 p.m. and ends around 7:30 p.m. Everyone is encouraged to attend, have a terrific meal and bid on items to support the Knights.

Donations for the silent auction are always welcome. Please contact Kinuso School at 780-775-3694 to donate items or for more information on the supper.

Town and Country Feb. 26-28

The High Prairie Town and Country Bonspiel is set to go Feb. 26-26 at the High Prairie Curling Club.

The entry fee is $15 per person with no age limit. Traditionally, young and old participate in the bonspiel which is geared more toward fun than competition. All teams will be drawn from a hat.

Prizes will be awarded in four events and a potluck banquet will also highlight the weekend.

The registration deadline is Feb. 24 at 7 p.m. Enter at the curling rink or by calling Lyndon Drefs at 780-523-1405.

Enilda firemen’s rally Feb. 28

The Enilda Volunteer Fire Department’s Non-Motorized Poker Rally will be held Feb. 28 beginning at the W.I. Hall at 1 p.m.

People are invited to ski, walk, jog, snowshoe, or any other means of transportation not involving a motor.

Adult hands sell for $20 and children’s hands 14 years and under $5. All extra hands sell for $5.

Hot drinks and snacks will be available all afternoon. A free chili and a bun supper is offered to everyone at 4 p.m.

The rally is scheduled from 1-4 p.m. and occurs snow or shine.

This year’s proceeds will be donated to the High Prairie and District Palliative Care Society.

Elks Snowmobile Rally Feb. 28

The High Prairie Elks are hosting a Snowmobile Rally Feb. 28.

The rally begins and ends at the Elks Pro Rodeo Grounds. Registration occurs from 10 a.m. to noon and the canteen will be open for everyone’s convenience.

Hands cost $20 each.
