Work continues at a frenzied pace to ensure High Prairie plays proud host to the Alberta Midget Female A Provincials March 25-28.

Host committee chair Patricia Belyan has sent letters to prospective sponsors, which are needed to ensure the tournament is a first-class event.

High Prairie is one of 43 host locations announced by Hockey Alberta.

“We look forward to working with High Prairie during the 2010 Provincials,” says Hockey Alberta president Annie Orton. “We know they will create a `best ever’ experience for everyone attending.”

Each host site submitted a bid to host the Investors Group Hockey Alberta Provincials before Nov. 16, 2009. The selections were made by Hockey Alberta and various councils based on select criteria including volunteer bases, marketing plans and financial goals.

Investors Group is the title sponsor for the fifth year in a row. Their partnership assists Hockey Alberta in being able to make the 2010 Investors Group Hockey Alberta Provincials an unforgettable experience for not only the athletes, but the parents, coaches, fans and host communities.

“Investors Group would like to congratulate the host sites on their successful bids. This year is going to be great and we look forward to visiting all the different championships throughout the province,” says Sharon Moskalyk, vice president of Western Canada’s Investors Group.

The local committee continues to raise money for the event. If you did not receive a letter and are interested in sponsoring a portion of the tournament, please contact Belyan at 780-523-5394, 780-536- 5062 or 780-636-2767 as soon as possible.
