Rodeo coming to Agriplex April 24-25

Rodeo fans will get their first taste of action for the coming season April 24-25 when the High Prairie Agricultural Society hosts the 2010 Spring Rodeo.
The show starts at 5 p.m. April 24 and 2 p.m. April 25 and promises to bring all the excitement of rodeo.
The opening event each day will be the wild pony race. Each team needs a vest and helmet. Cost to enter is only $30 per team; each day there is a $150 purse.
Organizers have scheduled wild cow milking Saturday with a limit of six teams competing for a $300 purse. The ever-popular mutton bustin’ goes Sunday with a limit of 10 riders.
Senior events include saddle bronc, bareback, tie down roping, steer wrestling, team roping, ladies barrels and the ever-popular bull riding. Junior events include novice horse riding, junior bull riding, junior barrels, peewee barrels, junior steer riding, local barrels and junior breakaway roping.
A trade show and sale will also occur.
Beer gardens and concession are on site and a free Sunday free pancake breakfast will be held at the Agriplex from 9-11 a.m. and sponsored by Freson IGA.
Admission is $10 for teens and adults with 6-12 years admitted for $5. Children with parents five years and under will be admitted free.
The stock contractor is Miller Rodeo Canada. The rodeo is sanctioned by the Wildrose Rodeo Association and Lakeland Rodeo Association.
