Yee haw! It’s rodeo time!

High Prairie and District Agricultural Society members invite everyone to the Spring Rodeo at the Agriplex April 24-25. Left-right are vice-president Veronica Bedard, treasurer Meghan Payne and president Eric Verstappen. The Ag Society takes over the rodeo from the High Prairie Indoor Rodeo Association after many successful years. The April 24 show starts at 5 p.m. with the April 25 show starting at 2 p.m. Admission is $10 for teens and adults; children 6-12 years are admitted for $5 and children with parents five years and under will be admitted free.


Thousands to attend Gun & Sportsman Show
The High Prairie Gun and Sportsman Show is one of the community’s biggest events, with dealers coming from Alberta, British Columbia and Saskatchewan.

Area declared “high” hazard for fires
Wildfire season officially begins on April 1, and five has already occurred in the Lesser Slave Lake region. With the disappearing snow and windy conditions, Alberta Sustainable Resource Development has declared this area as a ‘high’ hazard for wildfires, as of April 8.
