Six Plex opened
It was a proud day in Sucker Creek May 11 when the band opened the new Six Plex Housing Unit just north of the band office. The
$750,000 project was a joint venture between the band, Service Canada and other partners. Above, Sucker Creek Chief Jim Badger,
left, cuts the ribbon as project manager Lonnie Willier, right, looks on. In the middle is Angela Ballard, Service Canada representative
for the federal government from Edmonton. Badger says the first residents should be moving into the units within weeks. Particularly
noteworthy is the 10 carpenters involved in the project are band members and trained in Sucker Creek.
