Oh, dear – it’s column
time again…what shall
I write about?
Can’t think of any topics.
Maybe if I grab a
coffee, I’ll think more
clearly.
Oh, hello, Caezar.
Getting tea, are you?
What kind do you like
best? Cranberry? Sure
smells good.
Oh, goodness, we
need more coffee supplies.
I’ll have to make a
note to get to Extra
Foods within the next
day or so.
OK, settle down at the
desk and write the note
and – oh, there goes the
phone. Perri and
Tammy are busy, so I’ll
get it…Good morning,
Lakeside Leader… An
accident on Main
Street, did you say, sir?
OK, I’ll let Joe or
Caezar know so they
can go and get pictures.
Joe…Joe! Guy called
and said there’s been a
collision on Main Street
by the Elks Hall. Oh,
you’re busy? And so’s
Caezar? OK, I’ll go get
the pics…
(half hour later)
Man, that was quite
the scene…Thank God
nobody was killed, but
that car is definitely
toast. People need tips
on how to drive carefully…
Oh, yes, I have to
take my car into the
shop, don’t I?…Hello,
mechanic? Yes, I need
to bring my car in…Tomorrow
is fine, but I’ll
need it by the end of the
day…OK, and how
much will it cost? (gulp)
I see. OK, I’ll make sure
I’ve got the money. See
you then.
Better go to the bank
and get money for the
car.
(go to bank) Hi, there.
How are you? And your
husband?...Really! Oh, I
hope his leg will heal
quickly and the dog didn’t
have rabies….
(Ten minutes later)
Good to see you – it’s
great to chat with
friends. But I’ve gotta
run – got that column to
write.
(enter office)
Well, hello, Harry
Bartlett! What have you
got there today?...
Tickets for the
Rotary Club’s hottest
summer day contest? It
IS the middle of June,
isn’t it? Where does
time go?...Sure, I’ll buy
a ticket. It’s for a very
good cause and people
need to know that.
Oh, goodness, speaking
of money, I also
have to pay those power
and Visa bills I got in
the mail today. Everything’s
getting so expensive
these days; I
have to cut back somewhere.
Let me go on the
Internet and research
ways of paring down my
expenses, then I’ll write
that column.

to me. What on
