One man's stand
Max Ostermeier donned a suit to
wear to Prairie River Junior High
School the afternoon of June 18.
Ostermeier says he wore the suit
to show the teachers students
could look nice and as a reward for
three years of hard work. PRJH’s
Grade 9 students voted to scrap
the Grade 9 Farewell this year and
have a dance at the school June

Driftpile, Pembina sign pipeline MOU
Pembina Pipeline Corporation’s plan for a $440 million pipeline project is a step closer,
after the company signed a memorandum of understanding with Driftpile First Nation, to
allow the pipeline to be built through their traditional territory.

Angler’s Cup pays out $55,000 to winning team
It was a good couple of
days on the water for
Billy Fleming of Spruce
Grove and Dave Kennedy
of Wetaskiwin.
They weighed in 23.66
lbs. of walleye in the Canadian
Tire Anglers
Cup, and it won them
$55,000 in first-place
prize money
Bringing ’em out at North Country Fair
The North Country
Fair had it all, from reggae
to Country music
and family entertainment,
drawing approximately
4,000 people as
well as many bands and
merchants.

Students enjoy first track meet
School may be out for another year but students at High Prairie Elementary school are still talking about the fun times had at the HPE Track Meet May 27.
