Lots of fun for pennies at carnival

Children and families had plenty of fun at the High Prairie Public’s Library’s Penny Carnival Aug. 10.
The event was run with the help of volunteers from the library, High Prairie and District Children’s Resource Council, High Prairie Friendship Centre and Marigold Enterprises.
“It’s for the kids,” says Kayla Killoran, the program coordinator for the library. “We want to do something for the little kids.”
Killoran thanks the community for their donations and support of the event.
Most of the activities were held in the library parking lot, including included miniature golf, the penny pitch, fish pond, bean bag toss and digging for treasure. Other activities were held on the grass at St. Mark’s Anglican Church, including a three-legged race and a sack race.
There was also face painting and tattooing. Soft drinks and popcorn were for sale as well.
