High Prairie fire chief Ken Melnyk, centre, welcomed four of the mascots who arrived at the beginning of High Prairie FireChase Oct. 2 at Jaycee Park. The fundraiser was another resounding success with the raffle for the 2012 RZR, donated by Hebert’s Motor Sports, raising about $9,000 alone. Over 170 people participated in the run or walk. Left-right are Alberta Health Services mascot Panda, Sparky the Fire Dog, Melnyk, High Prairie’s mascot Dolly Wally and Alberta Forestry’s Bertie the Beaver. Arriving later were ACO Electric’s Louis the Lightning Bug and the A&W Root Bear.
