Off and running

High Prairie St. Andrew’s School Grade 1 teacher Joanne Baird leads elementary students on the Terry Fox Run Sept. 26. Each year, the school holds the Terry Fox Run to raise money for cancer research and to get students to exercise. Elementary students ran inside the playground while junior and senior high students walked near the school. E.W. Pratt High School, Prairie River Junior High School and High Prairie Elementary School also held Terry Fox Runs. Money was still being collected at press time.



Boston Marathon, here he comes!

Craig Rederburg, at the age of 50, and after only two years of seriously devoting himself to long distance running, learned on Sept. 24 that he had officially qualified for the world-famous Boston Marathon.


People walk to raise awareness for FASD

Approximately 20 community members came out to walk for the 13th Annual Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder Walk for Awareness on Sept. 26 to help raise money and awareness for those suffering from FASD.
