Obituary: Jack Lischka, 1935-2012
|
Jack George Joseph Lischka, a long-time resident of High Prairie, passed away Jan. 4, 2012, in High Prairie at the age of 76 yeas.
Jack was born March 19, 1935 at Lampman, SK to Marie and Anton Lischka.
Jack was an engineer and spent 40 years in the oilpatch. He worked his way up from roughneck to a consulting engineer until his retirement in 2002. His retirement years were spent pursuing his lifelong passions: hunting, fishing, farming, gardening, cooking, traveling and spending time with family and friends.
Jack is survived by and will be lovingly missed by his four daughters: Stephanie McKessock, Jackie Hvizdos, Christine (Gary) Mason, and Laurelei Lischka; his grandchildren Desiree (Rob) Hildebrandt, Kynna Hvizdos, Amber (Josh) Mannes, Shannon (Evan) Millson, Joseph Mason, Ashly McKessock (Jeff Erickson), Mathew Mason and Geoffrey Mason; great-grandchildren Jade, Ariadne and Ethan Mellson, and Jacob Mannes. He is also survived by his siblings: Henry (May) Lischka, Andrew (Leona) Lischka, Ron (Elaine) Lischka, Betty (Henry) Napora, Bill (Delira) Lischka, and Marlene (Don) Tatton; and many nieces and nephews, and countless friends.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Anton and Marie Lischka; his siblings Steve (Margaret) Fieber; Frank (Eva) Lischka; John (Yvonne) Lischka; Herb (Stella) Lischka, and Tony (Anne) Lischka.
The funeral for Jack Lischka was held Jan. 12, 2012, at High Prairie St. Paul’s Roman Catholic Church.
