Laura Evans, ? - 2006
Laura Edith Evans (nee Cook) passed away on Jan.
13, 2006, at the High Prairie Health Complex with her daughter
and family friends by her side.
Laura is survived by: her daughter, Ellen Evans of Edmonton; sister-in-law
Grace Cook of St. Johns; nieces Caroline Stewart of Beaverlodge,
Alta., Donna (Ken) Stewart of Edmonton; Gwen Walsh, Cathy (Glen)
Turpin of St. Johns; and two nephews, David (Verna) Evans
of Three Hills, Alta. and Robert Cook of Dartmouth, N.S.
She was predeceased by: her husband, Archie; her parents, John
and Edith Cook; and her bother, Allan.
Laura taught school for 40 years in Hanna, Notikewin, Manning
and High Prairie. She was a member of the Royal Purple receiving
her 45-year pin in 2005. During her time in the Royal Purple she
served as Past District Deputy for the district covering Slave
Lake to High Prairie. She also served on the Hospital Auxiliary
for over 20 years.
