Mary Delphine Lauck, ?-2006
Mary Delphine Lauck passed away Jan. 5, 2006,
following a lengthy illness since her 91st birthday Nov. 7, 2005.
She leaves to mourn: sons Donald (Pearl), David (Fran), Vernon
(Jeanne), Dennis (Jackie); daughters Barbara Cookman, Joan Crawford,
Judith Bayerle, Luella King (Doug), Mary Savill (Myler) and Wanda
Gillespie (James); plus numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.
She was predeceased by: spouse Selmer (Sam); sons Harold, Doug
and Kenneth; daughter Shirley; and one grandson, Denny.
Mary was born and raised in the High Prairie area. She was a pioneer
of the Heart River and Banana Belt communities. She worked hard
and endlessly in the years of raising 14 children with none of
the luxuries of power and running water. Her childrens clothing
were made by her hands and the good food they ate was grown on
the farm in her large garden. Mary loved to cook and she excelled
at it. She cooked in various oil rig camps, restaurants and lumber
camps until her retirement at the age of 65 years.
In 1982, following the death of Sam, Mary moved to the Golden
Age Apartments in High Prairie.
For the past 25 years her love of gardening was shown in her glorious
flowers that grew every summer in front of her apartment.
She devoted her life to family and friends; her generosity knew
no bounds.
This great lady will be sadly missed by family and friends.
