H.P court docket

Judge G.W. Paul
A tourist on his way to the North Country Fair near Driftpile last summer will pay a hefty fine after pleading guilty to carrying illegal drugs.
Christopher Brian Wild, 24, of Calgary, was handed a global sentence of $2,000, plus a victim fine surcharge of $600, for three counts of possession of a controlled substance in High Prairie provincial court April 25.
Wild was a passenger in a vehicle that was stopped by Lakeshore Regional Police Service who found a stash of illegal drugs that included 36 grams of marijuana, cocaine and mushrooms, federal Crown prosecutor Cameron McCoy told court.
“Bad things happen when you pack around drugs,” Judge G.W. Paul said.
“The aggravating factor is that he had multi drugs, including cocaine.”
Judge Paul also noted that most of the 43 pages in the court docket were drug related.
“I don’t understand why the message isn’t getting across,” he said.
Wild also had other drug paraphernalia with him.
“He had a variety of pharmacy in his bag,” McCoy said.
Duty counsel Harry Jong told court Wild told him that most of the drugs were for his personal use.
“He claims responsibility for all the drugs,” Jong says.
