A later time has proven to be more popular to start Canada Day celebrations at Joussard.
Canada Day offers fun for everyone with its usual schedule of activities at the Joussard Community Association Hall and adjacent grounds.
Events begin at 2 p.m. in past years before last year activities began earlier with the opening ceremony, followed by the highly popular bicycle parade at 2:30 p.m. The parade sees dozens of children decorating their bicycles, wagons, strollers, etc. in a colourful display of red and white before parading around the hamlet.
At 2:30 p.m., activities for children and adults begin. Games will be held both inside and outside, weather permitting.
The popular bouncy houses are back. A mere $5 gets your child an all-day pass.
A supper is held at 6 p.m. catered by Maggie. The $9 fee gets you a roast beef dinner. Other concessions throughout the day will be provided by Sammy’s Food Truck.
Beginning at 6:30 p.m. until 11 p.m. karaoke dance and music will occur with Lasting Impressions providing the music.
A spectacular fireworks display ends the day at 11 p.m.
All events, except children’s activities and supper, are free to attend.
