HPE Reporters
Hi! This is Ilona Drefs and Malcolm Cooper with this week’s South Peace News report.
Grade 4W has been working on their writing skills with a focus on great beginnings. Some of the students have started intramurals and are really enjoying them. Thank you to the awesome organizers. Students have also been discussing Habit 1 – Be Proactive and the importance of the choices we make.
Grade 2L played great against Grade 6I in dodgeball!
Grade 5C had to move their breakfast with England to early December. Liam Bilyk from 5C has been working very hard on a slide show to share during our meeting.
Grade 1S is applying new strategies for counting to 100. They have also been having lots of fun with new art activities. Keep up the great work, 1S!
Student led conferences are this Tuesday and Wednesday, Nov. 22-23, from 4-7 p.m. both nights. Come and let your child show you what they know about learning.
Don’t forget about our wonderful Book Fair. You will be able to find great books for all ages. Stop in and see what is happening at the Book Fair in Room 156 during the student led conferences.
We will be selling tickets for “The Best Seat in the House” for our annual Christmas concerts. You can purchase these tickets during the student led conferences Nov. 22-23. If you win, you get to sit up front on a comfy sofa and watch the Christmas concert from the best seat in the house.
Thanks for your support.
The Grade 5 students would like to thank all of the students, staff and community people who showed their wonderful, giving spirit by contributing to the Christmas Shoebox campaign. With your help we were able to fill 39 boxes this year. They boxes are now headed to Prairie River Junior High School to be added to their collection of boxes. Great work, HPE!
The Grade 5 students will be holding their annual Kids Sense book sale Tuesday, Nov. 29. This is a special book sale in our school. No money is required! Students earn “Caught Being Great” coupons from adults around our school. With each coupon, a student may purchase three gently-used books. The sale will run from 9 a.m. – 2 p.m. and will be held in Room 156.
Have a great week and check in with us next week.
