Hello, this is Diamond, reporting from Joussard School for the last time this year. Do not worry, though. We will be back next fall, keeping you updated as to what is going on here.

This last week has been very, very busy. We’ve all tried our best to enjoy our last week with our teachers and our current classrooms. But, we’re sure that we will all be ready for the changes that we will experience next fall.

In kindergarten this week, the highlight for the little kids was to experience their graduation. This was an incredibly exciting event and all of the students were eagerly looking for mom and dad and grandparents in the audience, making sure they were seen in their hour of honour.

Our Grade 1 students report that they have been busy cleaning up their classroom. But, they still managed to get lots of school work done as well.

In Grade 2, our students were busy telling stories through puppet shows. This was so much fun.

Students in Grade 3 are also busy cleaning up their classroom. It is a bit of a sad time for these students as they are saying goodbye to their teacher, Erin O’Grady, who is moving to Slave Lake.

Our Grade 4 students are absolutely loving a new digital program called Prodigy. This is a math program that helps students – in a fun way – sharpen up their math skills.

In Grade 5, our students are also enjoying using the Prodigy program in math. They also report that they enjoyed the afterschool soccer club that their teacher, Spencer Smith ran.

And in Grade 6, our students are relieved that the Provincial Achievement Tests are over! They were a lot of work and all of the students did their very best on the tests.

Our Grade 6 students were also putting their efforts into their graduation ceremony. The students planned this occasion themselves and showcased many of their talents. We had some singers and dancers getting ready, it was a great show.

We would like to thank South Peace News editor Chris Clegg for always supporting our school. He is consistently interested in whatever is going on here and just brought us a wonderful pizza lunch June 21.

From all of us at Joussard School, we hope everyone has a great and safe summer holiday and please don’t forget to read our reports again next year.
