A Kinuso woman raised $2,602 this year in the Riding to Fight Kids Cancer cycle challenge.
It is the seventh year Roberta Hunt has participated in the challenge. She has covered 1,119 km and raised $15,354 for her efforts
This year, Hunt’s 211 kms ranked her 70th in Alberta for mileage covered.
Hunt says she is inspired to ride to help the children who are fighting cancer and their lives. She was also a relative to the late Cassidy Davies-Hunt, of High Prairie, who passed away Nov. 25, 2018 at the age of 10 years. She says she was inspired by Cassidy’s positive outlook despite battling the disease.
In Canada, about 1,400 children are diagnosed with cancer each year. It remains the biggest child killer of all diseases in Canada.
“Kids should be living life, not fighting it,” Hunt said in an earlier interview.
Riding to Fight Kids Cancer is organized by the SickKids Foundation.
