The new principal at East Prairie Hillview School is no stranger to the area.
Northland School Division is pleased to announce the appointment of Patrick Lambton, who has been with the division for the past six years.
Lambton served as principal at Chipewyan Lake School in 2015-16. He says he would like to build upon the good work that has already been done at Hillview School.
“At the beginning my priorities will be to discover and understand that good work, and in consultation with the staff, local school board committee, community, and students see where there is a need for improvement,” says Lambton.
“I will be looking to promote the main goals of Northland such as literacy, attendance, and land-based learning,” he adds.
In addition to being the school’s principal, Lambton says he will be teaching full-time.
“Hillview is very similar to Chipewyan Lake in the sense that both schools have minimal staff and multi-grade classrooms,” says Lambton. “I enjoyed the challenges and progress we made at Chipewyan Lake and hope to have success at Hillview as I grow in my understanding of my role as an administrator who is also a full-time teacher.”
Before becoming an administrator, Lambton educated students at Atikameg School and at Gift Lake School. In 2012, he earned a Master of Education Degree from the University of Alberta.
