CPP Investments leased fancy new digs in downtown Toronto that are among the most expensive offices in the country, according to a report from the Toronto Star.
CPP Investments is the federal Crown corporation that invests Canadian citizens’ pension money. The 10-year cost of the move is expected to be $300 million to $430 million. Despite the hefty price tag, the new offices will be 10 per cent smaller than CPP Investment’s current home.
“The money to pay for the move will come out of the returns on the reserve fund for the Canada Pension Plan, which more than 22 million Canadian workers must contribute to by law,” according to the Toronto Star.
The lavish new digs boast a 14,000-square-foot fitness centre, concierge services and connected food court with a Michelin-featured bistro.
Tell CPP to stop this blatant waste of Canadian citizens’ money.
