The Native Cultural Arts Museum at Grouard is opening its doors to one of its biggest events of the year on July 16.
And what could be more fitting than to dedicate this year’s annual event to local author Larry Loyie, who recently passed away April 18 at the age of 82 years. It would be hard to find anyone who supported the museum more, or preserved history through his award-winning books.
The open house occurs all day from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. and includes museum and St. Bernard’s Church tours. Enjoy a walk back in time to one of the Peace Country’s most historic buildings.
From 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. there will be outdoor Historical Village tours, children’s arts and crafts, special guest tables, and door prizes. The gift ship is also holding a sale. During village tours, observe how life was over 100 years ago for area residents.
For more information, please call the museum at [780] 751-3306.
