Ken Sandquist
Aug. 21, 1934 – Nov. 12, 2024

It is with heavy hearts the family of Kenneth Edwin Sandquist of High Prairie wish to announce his passing on Nov. 12, 2024, at the age of 90 years.

Born in High Prairie, AB on Aug. 21, 1934 to Edwin and Astrid Sandquist, Ken grew up in the farming community of Big Meadow. In 1954, he married Marlene Boehler of High Prairie and together they continued to live and farm in Big Meadow while raising their family.

In 1999, Ken and Marlene moved to High Prairie, although Ken continued to farm for many more years, making the jaunt back and forth to Big Meadow.

Ken was predeceased by: his loving wife Marlene; his parents; and youngest son Kenneth Jr.

He is survived by: his children, Rick (Marianne), Aubrey, Marlee (Roger) and Bradley; grandchildren Kristie and Corey, Ashley and Tyler, Justin, Brayden and Nathan; great grandson Samuel; sisters Amy, Darlene, Anne, Carol, Linda (Ken), brother Allan (Tanis) as well as numerous extended family and friends.

The family would like to thank the doctors, nurses and staff at the High Prairie Regional Health Complex for their dedication and care, as well as special thanks to the palliative care team for all their support and kindness throughout Dad’s illness.

A Celebration of Life for Kenneth will be held at a later date.
